Where is Feynan Ecolodge?
Feynan Ecolodge is located at the Western edge of Dana Biosphere Reserve - near the villages of Qurayqura (pronounced Greigra) and Feynan - approximately 215 km south of Amman off the Dead Sea-Aqaba highway.

PLEASE NOTE: Although Feynan is only 14km from Dana Guesthouse/Dana Village as the crow flies, please do not follow signs to Dana Biosphere Reserve, or head to Dana Guesthouse or the village of Dana (off the Kings Highway) unless you plan on hiking to the lodge. There are no roads inside the Reserve so it takes 2 hours to drive from Dana Guesthouse (in the Eastern section of the reserve) to Feynan.

How do i get there?

Driving to Feynan (if you are having any problems reaching Feynan, please contact our Reception Centre on 079 748 7900)

If you are not driving in a 4x4 vehicle, transportation must be booked for the last 8 km (1/2 hour drive) of off-road track from our Reception Centre to the lodge. Transportation is provided by local Bedouin in their own pickups. The price per trip can be found here and will be added to your bill at checkout. All proceeds from your transportation fee go to your driver to help support the local community. As such, there is no need to tip the driver. The pickups the drivers use are old, and the drive can be uncomfortable for some as the road is rough in parts. We apologise for this, but we are confident that you will soon find that it’s all more than worth it.

From Amman:
(We recommend resetting your odometer when you reach the 7th circle in Amman to easily follow the directions)

There are three main roads connecting the North of Jordan to the South: The Desert Highway (route 15), the King’s Highway (route 35), and the Dead Sea Highway, also known as the Dead Sea-Aqaba Highway (route 65).

• Leaving Amman from the 7th Circle, head towards the airport. 5 km from the 7th Circle, turn right towards the
Dead Sea via route 40 (Na’our road). Make sure you do not stay on the Desert Highway out of Amman, and do
not head to the King’s Highway. Route 40 ends at the Dead Sea Highway, 41 km from the 7th circle.

• Once on the Dead Sea Highway, head south towards Aqaba. Here are some land marks along the route, and
their distance from Amman’s 7th Circle and from the Feynan junction on the Dead Sea Highway:

• Turn left immediately after the army checkpoint towards the village of Qurayqura (pronounced Greigra) and
  Feynan Ecolodge.
• Follow the road and turn right after 15 km. Drive straight for 1.3 km.
• At the next junction bear left, and 1 km later turn left again. 3.7 km later you will see Feynan Reception Centre
on your left. If you are driving in a 4x4 vehicle, the staff at the Reception Centre will direct you to the off-road
track that takes you to the lodge.

From Madaba, Karak, Tafila, or Dana:
Head to the Dead Sea Highway (route 65). Once on the Dead Sea Highway, head south towards Aqaba following the instructions from the relevant junction under the Amman directions.

From Aqaba: (We recommend resetting your odometer at the beginning of your trip to easily follow the directions)

• Take the Dead Sea Highway (route 65) north until the second army checkpoint (131 km from Aqaba). Turn right
immediately before reaching the checkpoint towards the village of Qurayqura (pronounced Greigra) and Feynan   Ecolodge.
• Follow the road, and turn right after 15 km. Drive straight for 1.3 km.
• At the next junction bear left, and 1 km later turn left again. 3.7 km later you will see Feynan Reception
Centre on your left. If you are driving in a 4x4 vehicle, the staff at the Reception Centre will direct you to the
off- road track that takes you to the lodge.

From Petra (Wadi Mousa): Said by some to be the most scenic route in all of Jordan, Wadi Namla, is a little known, but spectacular drive from Petra to Feynan. (We recommend resetting your odometer at the beginning of your trip to easily follow the directions)

• Starting at the entrance of Petra, drive 8.4 km north towards Little Petra.
• As the road ends, turn right for 150m and immediately left towards Wadi Araba (the route is called Wadi Namla).
• Continue through the canyon, across the farmland and down through the breathtaking switchbacks overlooking   Wadi Araba.
• Drive through the desert until the road comes to a “T” (44.3 km from the entrance to Petra). Turn right towards   the village of Qurayqura (pronounced Greigra) following the signs to Feynan Ecolodge.
• Follow the road for 5.9 km. Turn right and drive straight for 1.3 km.
• At the next junction bear left, and 1 km later turn left again. 3.7 km later you will see the Feynan Reception
Centre on your left. If you are driving in a 4x4 vehicle, the staff at the Reception Centre will direct you to the
off-road track that takes you to the lodge.
